About us

Kevin Grenfell's Jazz Giants make a welcome return visit to Plymouth Jazz Club. Led by trombonist Kevin Grenfell, the band has a star line-up playing an eclectic selection of highly entertaining traditional jazz tunes.
At the age of 18 Kevin joined the band of the Queen's Own Hussars, becoming principal trombone and featured soloist. In 1990 Kevin left the Army and immersed himself in jazz. He has a music degree from Dartington College of Arts and has become well established and respected as both trombonist, trumpeter and vocalist in the UK and around Europe.
As guest trombonist and vocalist with the Danish "Paul Harrison Band" he secured his reputation as a firm favourite at major European clubs and international festivals including Dresden, Copenhagen and Haugesund, to name but a few.
The band includes saxophone star Zoltan Sagi, Simon Smith on bass, Richard Hughes piano and Jim Newton on drums.
Kevin's great sense of humour plus audience rapport & interplay make this band an ideal band for the Christmas party season, so come along and enjoy yourselves!
Great music, great entertainment!
