Plymouth Jazz Club is delighted to be able to present, by popular request, Lee Gibson, a nationally and internationally acclaimed jazz singer who has delighted critics and fans alike with her wonderful voice, innate sense of swing and dynamic stage presence. Lee has appeared at all the major jazz venues and festivals throughout the UK also headlining festivals in Australia and performing throughout Europe. As well as working with her own trio and quartet, Lee has worked with all the major bands in the UK and Europe. Lee recently appeared at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club performing songs associated with Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald with Mark Nightingale, John Pearce, Paul Morgan and Bobby Worth.
Lee is also a leading Jazz educator and Senior Jazz Professor at The Guildhall School of Music And Drama, London.
Plymouth based saxophonist Martin Dale is one of the busiest and most popular jazz musicians in the South West and is also a member of the London based group "Sax Appeal". He has worked on the Q.E.2 as lead alto player, backing such artists as Neil Sedaka, Petula Clark, and Tom Jones. He has recorded for the BBC on radio and television and has released 8CDs which have been played on both Radio 2, 3 and Jazz FM. Martin regularly appears at UK Jazz festivals, has played at Ronnie Scott's and many other London venues.
Regular members of Martin's Quartet include Gavin Martin, piano, Kevin Sanders, one of the most in-demand bass players in the West, and Denis Harris, drums.
