About us

Join Rooted Ways for a 2.5-hour outdoor adventure exploring the secrets of the hedgerow. Together we'll take a guided discovery walk, learning how to identify a variety of plants and trees, uncovering their traditional uses, and finding out how people have used natural materials from the countryside throughout history.
We'll then get creative with a bushcraft-inspired craft activity, using responsibly gathered natural materials to make your own handmade item. Depending on what nature provides on the day, you might create natural cordage (string), a woven nature plate, or another seasonal nature craft.
What you'll do:
Explore the hedgerow on a guided discovery walk
Learn to identify common plants and trees
Discover traditional uses of natural materials
Learn simple harvesting and bushcraft techniques
Create your own nature-inspired craft to take home
Who is it for?
This workshop is designed for families and young explorers with a love of nature. Activities are best suited to children aged 10+, but younger children are very welcome to join with an accompanying adult.
