About us

Sirinu return to the Festival with a concert of ballads and tunes of the Tamar Valley and East Cornwall. These beautiful songs celebrate old stories and traditions about local landmarks (The Saltash bridge, The Hurlers, Kilmar Tor, etc.) and local characters (Daniel Gumb, Dando and Cornish miners). Performed with a wide mixture of traditional instruments (harp, dulcimer, fiddle, recorder) and modern folk instruments (guitar, banjo and keyboards), these songs were written by Matthew Spring in a contemporary folk style with words by his father George Spring. Their songs are intermixed with traditional ballads, shanties and instrumentals from the Saltash and Caradon area.

Family friendly event.
