About us

South West City Swing is a five-piece band playing the greatest tunes from the heyday of classic jazz from the 1920s to 1940s along with the occasional curveball.
The band's music provides a perfect harmony of the bitter and the sweet - like a fine prohibition cocktail. This band will take you from heartbreaking love songs to dirty blues and upbeat dance numbers, all swept along by a swinging rhythm section. South West City Swing plays the music of Fats Waller, Duke Ellington and Johnny Mercer to name a few, all with a New Orleans flavour. It's music with a beat - for good times and for hard times. Miles Davis leads the band on vocals and tenor sax with Andy Stark alongside him on trumpet, Peter Tamblyn on piano, Pete Canter on upright bass and young gun Matt Evans on drums.
Music starts 19.30
