Gipsy Moth

About us

Welcome to the Gipsy Moth, the Plymouth pub named after the most famous yacht in the world, Gipsy Moth IV in which Sir Francis Chichester set sail from Plymouth on 27th August 1966, to sail single-handedly around the world.

After growing up in the Gipsy Moth with her parents, landlady Donna is proud to be part of its history once again.

Set on the beautiful Plymouth Hoe, overlooking the iconic Smeaton's Tower lighthouse, this pub is a hidden gem. It is deceptively large, arranged over 3 floors providing space for diners, drinkers, or those just looking for somewhere comfortable to sit and have chat over a coffee and a cake. Areas of the pub can be booked for private parties, and major sporting events are shown on large screens throughout the pub.
