Close up of a Sea Turtle at National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth, UK

About us

Visit the UK's largest Aquarium and be amazed by our fascinating underwater world and how we all play a part in conserving it. The National Marine Aquarium is a registered charity committed to promoting a sympathetic understanding of the sea through programmes of education, conservation and research.

Your journey will take you across the world's oceans, from the shores of Plymouth to the coral reefs of the tropics. We have over 70 sharks from more than ten different species. The sharks on display range in size from the small dogfish to the large Sand Tiger Sharks. Our hosts deliver an action-packed talk schedule, including our not-to-be-missed interactive dive show at 2:00 pm daily.

Aquarium Boat Trips in Plymouth Sound

In 2022r, the NMA is exploring the UK’s first National Marine Park, setting sail on selected dates throughout the year. Our Ocean Discovery Rangers will help you discover our British wildlife, from big to small, as well as the history of Plymouth’s stunning natural harbour. Our boat trips are open to everyone, so why not learn something new with our dedicated team of Ocean conservationists in 2022.

Our boat trips depart on selected dates at 10:30am, from the historic Barbican (from the Barbican Landing Stage). Meet our Ocean Discovery Rangers outside the Aquarium at 10am, then head over to the Silver Crest, where our crew will take us for an hour’s adventure on the waves.
