House of Marbles

About us

Welcome to House of Marbles, a cherished South-West attraction drawing over 100,000 visitors annually. Whether you’re here to explore our fascinating museums, witness live glassblowing or enjoy family-friendly activities, there’s something for everyone to discover.

Since our beginnings in 1973, crafting toys, games and marbles, we’ve evolved into a global brand. While our creations travel worldwide, our Devon base remains the heart of House of Marbles – a place where history, creativity and fun converge.

There’s always something happening to delight and inspire visitors of all ages, come rain or shine. View our online events calendar to discover workshops and family-friendly activities.  House of Marbles offers a variety of activities to entertain visitors of all ages:

Games Garden: Play oversized versions of classic games such as chess and Jericho or relax in the sunshine.

Marble Runs: Enjoy hands-on fun with our interactive installations, including Snooki 2000 – one of the largest permanent marble runs in the UK! Set them in motion and watch marbles cascade through intricate designs.

Brass Rubbing Trail: A creative activity that sparks imagination and a hunt around the site! Only £2 to partake!

Penny Press: Create a keepsake to remember your visit.

Toys, Marbles & Games: Explore a delightful range for children and adults alike.

Discover our museums and step into history with exhibits celebrating craftsmanship and play:

Glass Museum: Experience 4,000 years of glass making history

Marble Museum: Enjoy our interactive marble runs and view rare marbles, including every design we’ve ever created.

Games Museum: Revisit childhood with traditional games, marble games and bagatelles dating back to the 1600’s.

Pottery Museum: Explore our pottery-making heritage with artefacts, model and the original muffle kilns that connect us to Devon’s industrial past.

Situated in the heart of the old pottery buildings, our licensed restaurant offers freshly prepared dishes crafted from locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. Start your day with a hearty breakfast or enjoy a leisurely lunch. Nothing is quite complete with a traditional Devonshire cream tea! By evening, the space transforms into The Pottery by Night, offering intimate dinners and themed events in a cosy, atmospheric setting. To avoid disappointment, we highly recommend booking in advance by calling 01626 831320 or online.

Discover exceptional gifts for every occasion at The Emporium, where every item tells a story. Explore timeless toys, gifts, stylish homeware, and authentic beauty products. For those seeking nostalgia, our marbles and traditional games bring joy to visitors of all ages. With complimentary gift-wrapping, finding something special has never been easier.

Discover pure artistry where expert glassblowers turn molten glass into delicate works of art. At Teign Valley Glass Studio, visitors are welcome to observe molten glass being expertly shaped into delicate works of art, ranging from small giftware pieces to eye-catching sculptures.

For those wishing to explore further, our selection of glass workshops presents a rare chance for the public to learn glassmaking. These workshops cater to all levels and are available all-year round.

At House of Marbles, we celebrate the extraordinary and the quirky. From the artistry of glassmaking to the joy of play, our site combines history, creativity and fun to create a truly unique experience. Whether you’re a family seeking adventure, a history enthusiast, or someone looking for hands-on crafting, we promise an enjoyable visit.
