About us
This screening is an external event, presented by Bowel Cancer West, in association with Plymouth Cancer Champions.
Dir. David Nicholas Wilkinson, UK, 2026, 142 mins. Age guidance: Recommended 15+
After being diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer, filmmaker David Nicholas Wilkinson set out to investigate a disease that is increasingly affecting younger people and to understand why its symptoms are so often overlooked.
Featuring patients, doctors and cancer specialists, 1 in 2 challenges common misconceptions, explores the realities of modern cancer treatment and asks whether we really know the signs to look out for.
Honest, eye-opening and unexpectedly funny, this is a powerful film that aims to dispel myths, raise awareness and, above all, offer hope.
Because knowing the signs could save your life.
This screening will be followed by a Q&A with director David Nicholas Wilkinson.
All proceeds from the screening will be donated to the local bowel cancer charity, Bowel Cancer West. You will also have the option to make a further donation to Bowel Cancer West when you reach checkout.
