About us
Armada Way will officially reopen on Saturday 4 July with a vibrant, free city-centre celebration marking the completion of its major transformation. The £30 million regeneration project has revitalised this key route, creating a more welcoming and dynamic public space in the heart of Plymouth.
The opening event promises a full day of entertainment for all ages. Visitors can enjoy live music, dance performances, street theatre, and a range of family-friendly activities throughout the day. The newly created play village—spanning the size of five championship tennis courts—will open for the first time, alongside the activation of Armada Way’s water features.
Celebrations will extend across the city centre, with Wimbledon screened live on the big screen in the Piazza, free sessions on the city centre padel court, and a continental market along New George Street. Old Town Square will host live performances as part of the popular Saturday Sessions from 1pm.
This landmark event signals a new chapter for Plymouth city centre, inviting residents and visitors alike to rediscover Armada Way and enjoy its refreshed spaces.
