Prices

Admission to our public open days cost £5 for adults, £2.50 for children and £12 for a family group. We offer limited free parking on a first-come first-served basis and the Fort is very easy to access by public transport.

About us

The grounds, exhibitions and museum displays at Crownhill Fort will be open between midday and 4pm. Current and former service personnel can take advantage of free admission with proof of eligibility. There will be a programme of tours, talks and firing throughout the day:

• 12.00 Grounds, museums and exhibitions open
• 13.00 An interactive talk on rifles from 1850 to 1945
• 14.00 Firing of 32 pounder cannon on Garrison carriage
• 15.00 A guided walk around the North Caponier and Northwest Mortar Pit
• 16.00 Grounds, museums and exhibitions close


In addition to the timed activities visitors can:
• Explore 12 acres of grounds with ramparts and several casemates
• Visit the Devon Remembers exhibition about Crownhill Fort in WW1
• Discover what military life was like in 1890 and 1944 by visiting recreated barracks
• Follow a trail devised by and provided courtesy of The Arts Society
