About us
Every year, we at the National Marine Aquarium like to dedicate the October Half Term to wellbeing and art, and this year will be no different! All our younger visitors will be able to receive a free sketchbook to have a go at drawing all their favourite animals and there will be four art stations around the aquarium for grown up visitors too – each station using a different media so visitors can explore several styles of colouring and sketching.Our theme for October Half Term is Deep Blue Spaces, focusing on the positive effects of gazing into wide open Ocean spaces. In the Creative Centre, we'll be offering a range of colouring sheets for adults and kids alike, so all can find a moment of serenity. This year's trail will be a step-by-step origami challenge. Beginning with a square piece of origami paper, each poster gives the next step to creating a mystery origami animal by the time you leave!
As an additional treat on the final weekend of October Half Term, North Prospect Community Choir will be performing a 40 min choral piece inspired by the Ocean called "Storm", composed by Plymouth born Adrian Hull.
