About us
DEVCON Sci‑Fi Toy, Film & Comic Fair is a full day of fun for the whole family — perfect for sci‑fi, anime, toy, and gaming fans alike!
At every DEVCON event, our core ethos is all about Creating Smiles & Making a Difference. That’s exactly what we’re bringing to Sunday 10 May at Plymouth Council House, right in the town centre. Once again, we’ll be raising money for YoungMinds Trust, along with three other charities.
Special Guests
Meet guest actors from film and television, including Doctor Who’s Jemma Redgrave (Kate Stewart) and Sophie Aldred (Ace).
They’ve appeared alongside Matt Smith, Sylvester McCoy, Jodie Whittaker, Ncuti Gatwa, and many other iconic Doctor Who characters. Their careers also include major roles in Casualty and published authorship, to name just a few of their achievements!
Chat with them, purchase a signed autograph, and even have your photo taken together — the perfect memory to treasure.
Comics, Cards & Gaming
This year we’re excited to introduce a Comics & Trading Cards Zone.
Get your comics and cards graded, grab some fantastic deals, and even pick up exclusive items.
Take part in Dark Star Gaming tournaments for a chance to win huge prize bundles! They’ll also offer a great selection of tabletop games for all skill levels, plus mini activities and crafting for our younger visitors.
Relax in our Comics & Chillax Room, create, learn, get inspired, and connect with like‑minded fans. All of this can be found on the ground floor.
Cosplay & Star Wars Fun
Our popular Cosplay Zone returns with hundreds of pounds in prizes to be won! Dress as your favourite film, book, or comic character and take part in our fun cosplay competitions.
Learn lightsaber moves, hear tales from “a galaxy far, far away,” and meet Star Wars favourites such as Chewbacca, Darth Vader, and stormtroopers — with plenty of photo opportunities!
Anime Zone
Anime fans will love our dedicated Friendship Drop‑In Room, featuring a Maid Café, fantastic photo opportunities, dance performances, and the chance to make new friends.
Traders & More
Spanning two floors of Plymouth Council House, DEVCON will host over 60 trader stalls offering a huge range of goodies — including artwork, jewellery, toys, crafts, collectibles, and one‑off exclusives.
