About us

A stunning array of flowers and quilts will be displaying in the beautiful surrounds of the Minister of St Andrew's Church in a festival exploring the Mayflower's voyage.

The exhibition will consider the themes of freedom, faith and personal liberty that informed the original journey and will recognise the impact on Native American communities, addressing themes of colonialism and migration both in 1620 and today.

The flower and quilt displays will focus on one of four themes:

• Leaving home
• Life at Sea
• Journey's End
• Life in a New Land

Quilting groups, schools and colleges are creating quilts on one of the above themes. These will be interpreted in either modern or traditional styles and will reflect the journey in 1620 or a modern-day journey faced by people fleeing their countries in the 21st Century.
