About us

Burma's Spring documents the struggles of ordinary people made extraordinary by circumstance.

Working as an undercover reporter, Rosalind Russell unearthed the real-life stories of a rich array of characters and followed their fortunes over a tumultuous era of uprising, disaster and political reform. From famous leader Aung San Suu Kyi to the broken-hearted domestic worker Mu Mu, these are stories of tragedy, resilience and hope.

Join us to discuss this vivid account of a time of extraordinary change.

The event is free to attend and is open to all - no booking required. If you don't have time to read the book, a summary will be available.

Email Sue Kay (s.kay@blueyonder.co.uk) or call DDE on 01392 438811 for enquiries.

An initiative of Devon Development Education, Global Book Club Plymouth is supported by the University of Plymouth.
