About us

Inner mind is a dive into the mind of two emerging artists that compete and contrast in a similar arena. Both of these artists deal heavily with figures and deep emotions but come at it with their own creative process. The exhibition explores the tension between introspection and play through painting, drawing, and collaborative installation.

On the opening night of the show, (10th July from 6pm) both Tom and Jordan invite visitors to collaborate on blank canvases setup around the gallery space, embracing instinct, experimentation, and the freedom to create without fear of getting it wrong:

"As part of our show we hope to create an area for play in a play starved world where rest alone cannot solve the worldwide burnout epidemic. Actively engaging in play helps to ground us in the present and find joy in the moment. We will allow people to collaboratively make marks on canvases set up around the gallery that we will all work on to create finished pieces. We will encourage people to "ruin" and "destroy" to relieve us of any expectations and leave us open to pure creation."

Across the gallery, two distinct artistic approaches unfold before meeting in a shared work, centred around a balance of intuitive mark-making and working from a core concept. The climax of the work together involves a central collaborative piece where ideologies are married into one cohesive vision through constant fluid breaking down and rebuilding.
