About us

Saturday 10 January, 3pm
Dir. Jim Henson, UK/US, 1986, 101 mins. Cast. David Bowie, Jennifer Connelly, Toby Froud.
40th anniversary screening and celebrating David Bowie
Jim Henson's cult fantasy fairy tale stars Jennifer Connelly as Sophie, whose baby brother has been kidnapped by David Bowie's menacing Goblin King. The infant has been placed in the centre of a fiendishly challenging maze populated by fantastic creatures of all shapes and sizes, leaving Sophie to use all her wits to bring her sibling home. With its great soundtrack and fabulous imagery, it's a wonderful cinematic fairytale and the perfect way to celebrate the life of David Bowie on his birthday weekend.
