About us

Venturing to the very edges of the known world in the interests of science and discovery, the Endeavour set sail from Plymouth in August 1786. Listen as popular speaker Alan Read examines the events of that epic voyage and the personality of Captain James Cook, a naval officer and map-maker whose successful command transformed him into a national hero.
