About us
an Egg is a man, technically. Before that he was a boy, definitely. He went to an all boys catholic school, had an estranged relationship with his biological father and has since worked extensively with men who perpetrate abuse. Dan Egg believes our society has a problem with men, so is creating this solo show to unpack what went wrong, and find a better way of doing things.
Combining real-life experience in the domestic violence sector with movement, music, and autobiography, MANBOX is a heartfelt and funny show about masculinity, queerness, and how the patriarchy is failing all of us. Fresh from an acclaimed debut at London's prestigious Camden People's Theatre, MANBOX bursts on the Theatre Royal Plymouth stage for the first time.
This work in progress is supported by Theatre Royal Plymouth's EXPERIMENT strand of Artist Development. EXPERIMENT supports artists and companies with funding, research and development time, space in The Lab and the facility to present a public sharing of their work.
The Lab is a space dedicated to cultivating creativity and providing a platform for new voices and bold ideas.
