About us

Find out what it's like to study at the South West’s top-ranked university for Student Support and Facilities (WUSCAs 2026) by joining us on Saturday 25 July for our Open Day. This is a fantastic opportunity to explore our campus, visit nearby affordable student accommodation, and speak directly with our academics and course leaders. You’ll also have the chance to hop on a bus for a guided tour of Plymouth and discover more about student life in the city.

At Arts University Plymouth, our postgraduate programmes encourage you to explore and refine your creative practice while critically engaging with the cultural, technological, and economic changes shaping the world around us. During our Postgraduate Open Day, our friendly tutors will be available to answer your questions, provide insights into postgraduate study, and help you find the course that best suits your ambitions and interests. As an MA student, you will become part of a vibrant cross-disciplinary community of makers and thinkers, benefiting from a rich learning environment that combines critical inquiry with technical expertise across a range of creative disciplines.

While visiting, why not fuel your creativity by experiencing Plymouth’s fantastic food scene? The city offers a diverse selection of cafés, restaurants, and bars, providing something for every taste. Beyond your studies, your university experience is shaped by where you live and the opportunities available in your free time. Plymouth combines the benefits of a vibrant city with easy access to Devon’s stunning natural landscapes, making it an exciting and inspiring place to study.

We are proud to be located in the heart of Plymouth, just a short walk from the city’s central train station and well served by excellent public transport links. Situated opposite Drake Circus Shopping Centre and less than a minute from The Box – the South West’s award-winning museum, art gallery, and archive – our Tavistock Place campus is surrounded by a wide range of cultural attractions, entertainment, and unique experiences. Be sure to browse our handy What’s On guide to explore the events and activities available throughout the city.

Known as Britain’s Ocean City and the gateway to the South West, Plymouth is easy to reach from across the UK.
