About us

With Jamie Mills, Sarah Fairhall and Lois Taylor

In 2014 and subsequent years, Trevor Bell collaborated with the choreographer, the late Roger Belman. It was a collaboration that explored the relationship between mark making and contemporary dance.

As a fitting homage to this work, and congruent with the University of Plymouth's seasonal theme of 'transformations', this reflective and dynamic engagement between Bell's paintings, Jamie Mills' sound score, and dance co-devised and performed by Sarah Fairhall and Lois Taylor, both celebrates and makes palpable, Bell's engagement with how the physical energies of a painting can transcend the object's form. 'Trans-form' is conceived and curated by Joseph Clarke.
