About us

The 2026 Plymouth Breakwater Swim is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 21 June 2026. This date coincides with Father’s Day and the Summer Solstice, making it a particularly special occasion for participants.

Thanks to permission from the King’s Harbourmaster, swimmers will have the rare opportunity to cross Plymouth Sound from the Breakwater to the iconic Tinside Lido.

Participants will register at Commercial Wharf, The Barbican (PL1 2NX) before boarding the vessel The Plymouth Sound. The boat journey to the eastern end of the Breakwater takes approximately 20 minutes, during which swimmers will receive a safety briefing and prepare for the swim.

The route follows the coastline past Jennycliff Bay, continues by Mount Batten Pier, and finishes at Tinside Beach. This year’s distance is longer than previous events, covering approximately 3.8–4 km.
