About us
Trevi invites women and allies to join our Reclaim the Night march.
Friday 6th February 2026 at 6pm, starting at Arts University Plymouth.
Plus optional banner making workshop 4-6pm – details will to be announced in January.
This powerful event brings our community together to stand against violence towards women and girls.
About Reclaim the Night
Reclaim the Night has been a defining movement for nearly five decades. It began in Leeds in 1977 when, in response to the Yorkshire Ripper murders, women were told to stay indoors after dark while men were able to carry on with their lives. Women challenged this narrative, demanding the right to move freely and safely through public spaces.
Across the UK and here in Plymouth, these marches continue to highlight the reality that women are still expected to modify their lives to avoid assault, rather than society tackling the root causes of male violence.
About Reclaim the Night Plymouth
Trevi brought Reclaim the Night back to Plymouth 3 years ago. Our march sees women, girls, families, and allies taking to the streets, raising their voices for safety, justice and meaningful change. The event spotlights the escalating rates of VAWG, the long-term impact on victims and families, and the urgent need for preventative action.
Rooted in solidarity and community strength, Reclaim the Night is a chance for Plymouth to reaffirm that every woman deserves to live without fear.
We invite you to march with us, share your voice, and help call for a city where women and girls can thrive - day or night.
