Get set for a blooming wonderful summer at Drake Circus
We kick off a summer of fun in Plymouth on 1st and 2nd June with our summer launch party!
Our showstopping flower installation will be back, transforming the Centre into a spectacular meadow and spilling out onto the streets with our wildflower canopy suspended above Old Town Street.
You can get into the laid back summer vibe thanks to our VW campervan photobooth, where you can capture a free summer snap to remember! Or take time out with the family and join local artist Ella Brett for a free windmill making workshop.
Our launch weekend kicks off a range of fun activities planned throughout the summer alongside our local community partners:
– Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June – our summer launch party! Come take a photo in our free VW campervan photo booth or get crafty with local artist Ella Brett.
– Monday 8th July – Plymouth Library – Story time and colouring activities for adults and children, plus info on how to get involved with the summer reading challenge!
– Monday 22nd July – Plymouth College of Art – Design and print your own tote bag or tea towel using screen printing techniques
– Tuesday 23rd July – Plymouth College of Art – Make your own statement badge as part of the 'What's your proposition?' campaign
– Wednesday 24th July – Plymouth College of Art – Focus on creative mindfulness as part of the 'Mental Health Matters!' campaign
– Thursday 25th July – Plymouth College of Art - Design and print your own tote bag or tea towel using screen printing techniques
– Friday 26th July – Plymouth College of Art – Collaborative drawing session with Indian ink
– Monday 29th July – Plymouth Library - Story time and colouring activities for adults and children, plus info on how to get involved with the summer reading challenge!
– Wednesday 31st July and Thursday 1st August – Ping! Plymouth – Free table tennis courtesy of the Plymouth City Council's Sports Development Unit
– Wednesday 14th August – Theatre Royal – Craft and dress up opportunities plus competitions
– Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th August – National Marine Aquarium – Come and meet their life size Hammerhead Shark plushie and learn more about sustainable alternatives to single-use plastics and how you can help protect our marine environment
– Wednesday 21st August – Theatre Royal – Craft and dress up opportunities plus competitions
