About us
Dir. Kleber Mendonça Filho, Brazil/France, 2025, 161 mins. In Portuguese and German with English subtitles. Cast. Wagner Moura, Tânia Maria, Robério Diógenes.
Starring Golden Globe-winning Wagner Moura, The Secret Agent is a mischievous political thriller from the director of Bacurau, Kleber Mendonça Filho. Set in Brazil in 1977, a university professor travels from São Paulo to the seaside city of Recife during Carnival week, hoping to reunite with his son. He soon finds out he's been tailed and spied on by neighbours in his new refuge, leaving him no possible escape from the tentacles of corruption.
The Secret Agent is a tense and compelling view on Brazil's military dictatorship of the late 20th century.
