About us

This remarkable band was set up in 2005 by a dedicated bunch of students who wanted a musical outlet within the University in which to play jazz.
The Band has gone from strength to strength over the years and now has over thirty committed members, post-graduates and undergraduates, playing regular gigs across the region. The band has won numerous awards including winning "Best Song" and "Best Singer" category at both 2017 and 2018 Battle of the Big Bands.
About half the band will take part in this gig because of limited space.
The music ranges from "The Great American Songbook" tunes – Rogers & Hart, Glenn Miller etc. - to more modern music up to Michael Buble etc.
Come along and support this talented and enthusiastic band of youngsters!
