Santa Claus, Father Christmas, Saint Nicholas – whatever you call him, it wouldn’t be Christmas without a visit from everyone’s favourite festive character.

Luckily he’s making plenty of appearances in Plymouth this Christmas giving young family members lots of opportunities to pass on their wish lists and make some special memories.

Here’s where you can find him this year…

The Box

What could be better than breakfast with Santa? He’ll be visiting The Box every Saturday and Sunday between 27 November and 19 December to share breakfast at 9am – he’ll be there to greet you before you sit down to tuck into either pancakes with maple syrup or blueberries, or a delicious breakfast bap, all washed down with a hot drink or fruit juice. It costs £10 for adults and £7 for under 18s, book online now.

Santa will also be making an appearance at The Box’s ‘Christmas Late’ on 19 December, when you can enjoy the galleries out of hours. Wave him off before he heads back to the North Pole, then explore the museum, try your hand at Christmas crafts and enjoy live music. Tickets cost £5 and under 3s go free, book online now.

      

Boringdon Hall

Step into a magical world at the Santa’s Grotto at Boringdon Hall Hotel on 5, 12 and 19 December. On arrival you’ll be dazzled by a dance performance before enjoying a festive afternoon tea and getting creative with gingerbread decorating. Then you’ll meet Santa Claus and receive a special Christmas present. It costs £32 for adults and £21.95 for children, book online now.

      

China Fleet Country Club

Hop across the river Tamar to experience Santa’s Grotto at China Fleet Country Club in Saltash. You’ll celebrate in style with a traditional 2 course Christmas lunch before meeting Santa and his elves. There’s plenty of mulled wine and festive cheer guaranteed. Tickets cost £18 for adults and children, with under 2s free. There’s a few tickets left for 5 December so book online quickly.

      

Pennywell Farm

Everyone’s favourite farm becomes a magical winter wonderland at Christmas! Experience the Christmas Nativity in the barn, starring some real life furry friends, before enjoying some tasty festive treats and then meeting Father Christmas in the sparkly enchanted forest – he has a special gift for every child. Plymouth city centre

Santa will be making a few exciting appearances in the city centre this festive season. Expect music, lights, laughter and plenty of Santa banter as he cruises around town on a sofa accompanied by his naughty elf on Saturday 4 December. Look out for the 'sofa driving Santa' in Frankfort Gate from 12pm to 12.30pm, and then at Plymouth Christmas Market on the Piazza later in the afternoon.

You can also say hello to Santa at the Christmas Market where he'll be meeting and greeting people on 4 and 11 December between 11am and 1pm. 

It’s all part of a huge entertainment line-up in the city centre this Christmas, which includes live music, magicians, roller skating Christmas presents and even appearances from elves with their ‘Goodometer’ checking who’s been naughty and nice. Santa will also be in Plymouth Market on Saturday 18 December between 11am to 12.30pm, and 1pm to 2.30pm, so you can pop in before exploring some of the city's best independent traders! 

      

Mount Edgcumbe

Wonder Nights has returned to Mount Edgcumbe this year with truly wonderful experiences for families to enjoy. Join Father Christmas for a magical and interactive show inside the park's iconic mansion. This 60 minute experience features an amazing light show, a seated story-time session and a traditional meet-and-greet opportunity that will inspire family memories to treasure for a lifetime. Buckland Abbey

Traditional Olde Father Christmas will be visiting Buckland Abbey on 18 and 19 December, dressed all in green. He’ll meet you in the kitchen around the crackling fire, creating Christmas magic and helping you to make your own small toy. It costs £4 per child, book online now.
