Millbay & West Hoe

Millbay is a natural inlet to the west of Plymouth Hoe and is home to the Millbay Dock where large cross-Channel ferries operate alongside leisure craft, overlooked by marina residents. Constatly expanding, tomorrow's Millbay will include an even greater mix of maritime, business and residential development.

The transformation of the Millbay area is a key element in Plymouth's ambitions to be recognised as one of Europe's finest, most vibrant waterfront cities. With a new marina at it's heart and a recent development of the Plymouth School of Creative Arts has meant that a diverse and thriving community has evolved and with increased employment opportunities has improved the environment and quality of life.

A glimpse of Millbay's wider potential was seen during Plymouth's hosting of the world renowned America's Cup World Series yacht racing in 2011, where Millbay's refurbished docks and quayside played host to the bustling international race village.

West Hoe fills that gap between Millbay and Plymouth Hoe and offers a range of accommodation and places to eat as well as the West Hoe Park & Pirate Themed Treasure Island Park. A fantastic attraction which includes a wide range of entertainment for children & parents: trampolines, crazy golf, karts, remote control boats, cars and more.

Plymouth Gin

The Black Friars Distillery, the working home of Plymouth Gin since 1793, is the oldest working gin distillery in England. The building dates back to the early 1400’s and where the Mayflower Fathers are said to have spent their last night before setting sail in the Mayflower to the New World.
