Rockets & Rascals Bike Hire

About us

When we opened Plymouth's only award winning bicycle shop, Rockets & Rascals, in Plymouth's historic Barbican quarter in the Spring of 2013 it made an immediate impact on the local cycling scene. With 10 years now under our belt we feel safe to say we’re a mainstay of the cycle scene and the Barbican as a whole. We’ve even opened two other cafes in the city since Rockets & Rascals began, one for the sun, sea, and surf seekers; and the other for intrepid explorers.

At Rockets we cater for cyclists of all kinds but we really get our excitement from getting people to try something new. The bike hire program is available year round but really comes into it’s own in the summer, with Plymouths great access to woodland trails and seaside bridleways.

The mainstay of our stores is the cafe, serving up great food, cakes and of course the kind of coffee that has earned us an amazing reputation for quality.

With a regular programme of cycling events, the rockets riders club, and in-store events we work hard to make a difference to the cycling communities on our patch. We’re more than just a retailer, we’re an active part of the cycling scene. So grab a hire bike and complete the Shred or Dead cafe circuit and catch Black Cat Surf Club out in Plymstock, and Terra Nova Cafe out in historic Devonport.
