About us
A workshop open to anyone who would like to let their inner drag queen, king or prinx/ess out! (ages 18+)Led by London drag star Topsie Redfern (aka actor Nathan Kiley) and Amnesty Award nominated director and playwright Sarah Chew, who are the co-creators of Topsie Redfern's Crystal Balls, which will be performed at the Barbican 17 & 18 September (Pay What You Decide ticket booking barbicantheatre.co.uk)
As a starting point, we will look at the developing work of three artists who came to our previous workshop and have consequently developed acts, and share notes and feedback.
There will also be an opportunity for you to share an act, or even the very start of an idea of an act, to the group. If you would like to do this, if possible please drop us a line with an idea of the act, what you want to share, and what you hope to get out of it.
It is also fine to watch, be a supportive audience and help nurture the next generation of drag artists!
If you would like to share an act, please let us know by emailing marketing@barbicantheatre.co.uk
Barbican Theatre is a safe space - safe to be who you are, regardless of race, class, religion, country of origin, immigration status, (dis)ability, age, gender, identity, or sexual orientation.
This workshop is held in person at Barbican Theatre, where strict health and safety for social distancing is in place. There is opportunity to share your act, ask questions and get involved as much as you like but this is not mandatory.
