About us

The Gittisham Hall Jazz Band was formed some twelve years ago to play at Gittisham Hall. Some of the finest traditional jazz musicians in the Southwest got together & found a fine rapport, resulting in many more bookings for their brand of New Orleans style jazz.
The musicians are all well-known members of various other bands in the South West; they Include:-
Bob Manuel, trombone and leader, organiser of the Coast View Jazz Week in Shaldon.
Graham Trevarton, trumpet.
Gordon Stafford, reeds
John Baker, banjo, Regularly plays with the Pennyroyal Jazz Band
John Whitlock, piano. Perhaps better known for his guitar playing, John is a fine pianist with a wealth of experience, having learnt piano, guitar & banjo in his youth. He played with rock bands in the 60's and later branched out into dance music and jazz.
An evening of lively, entertaining traditional jazz by some of the finest musicians in the region!
