About us

The Original Plymouth Proms

Presented by South West Philharmonia and Chorus

Some traditions are worth keeping. Others are worth creating together.

For more than a decade, The Original Plymouth Proms has brought generations of people together through the shared experience of live music. It is an evening where families, friends, neighbours, and first time visitors come together, united by music that inspires, excites, and stays with you long after the final applause.

Performed by more than 150 musicians, this unforgettable celebration features the breathtaking music of Eric Whitacre, Prokofiev, Holst, Elgar, and the much loved traditions that make the Last Night of the Proms such a joyful occasion. From moments of quiet reflection to an exhilarating flag waving finale, every part of the evening is designed to be shared.

Set within the beautiful surroundings of St Andrew's Minster, Plymouth, and enhanced with large projection screens for an even better view, you'll experience the energy, emotion, and excitement of live performance from the very first note.

Whether you're continuing a family tradition, introducing someone to the Proms for the first time, or simply looking for an extraordinary evening out, you'll find a warm welcome waiting for you.

Bring your family. Bring your friends. Bring your flags. Join us as voices rise, hearts lift, and an entire audience becomes part of the music.

Because the very best musical experiences don't just happen on stage. They happen when we experience them together.
