About us

The event is named 'Row to Little Harbour' and is taking place on Thursday 12th March in the Roland Levinsky Building on the Plymouth University Campus. We are holding a 12 hour rowing marathon from 10am until 10pm but don't worry, you won't have to row for that long!

We will have 2 teams competing on the day and you will be assigned a team. You can choose a certain amount of minutes of consistent rowing that you would like to challenge yourself to and pick a time slot that you would like to row. If you would like to compete against a friend, be sure to book the same time slot and see who can row the furthest distance in the time!

The aim of the day is to hold a competition between the two teams to see who can row the distance to from Plymouth Little Harbour first (64.4km). This is a children's hospice in St Austell set up to provide respite care for children with life-limiting conditions and their families. The sponsorship and donations each team receives will also be counted to find who raises the most for the charity!

The 'Row to Little Harbour' event also includes performances from 12 live DJ's who will be mixing motivational music to keep you rowing to the beat. There will also be healthy snacks and refreshments for sale as well as some sweet treats. Raffle tickets will be available to buy – prizes for this will be announced at our Shake Up Brunch on the 26th April (see poster attached for more details). In addition there will be chance to take part in a Guess the Name of the Bear competition, buy CHSW merchandise and learn more about the charity and what will be done with the money you raise.
