There are plenty of activities for the all the family to enjoy this October half-term in Plymouth.

There is indoor fun with adventure golf, clay pigeon shooting, explore the underwater world and interactive darts. Or if you're craving the outdoors there is plenty to do, including Plymouth Trails, pumpkin picking or heading out on one of number of picturesque walks in the local area.

There is also plenty of Halloween-themed fun in Plymouth city centre to keep everyone entertained.

Have fun indoors 

Challenge your friends

Head to Boom Battle Bar or the newly-opened Spinners at Drake Circus, The Barcode for some indoor fun this half term.

At Boom Battle Bar, have a sing-off in the karaoke rooms, bring your A-game at American pool or hit the bullseye at axe throwing.

Alternatively, flock to Spinners where you can roll a strike at Duckpin bowling, fire away at the indoor clay pigeon shooting experience or shoot a one hundred and eiiiiiiighty at darts! 

      
Play some adventure golf

Check out two 18 hole adventure golf courses spanning across 16,000 sq/ft of tropical utopia at Paradise Island Adventure Golf in Drake Circus, The Barcode. Take on twists, turns, humps and bumps as you explore the treacherous swamps that await you and try to complete the round in the fewest shots posssible. 

   

Check out the latest exhibitions 

Head to The Box Plymouth where admission is free to the south-west’s major museum, art gallery and archive.

Two new exhibits will be open to view at The Box, with the introduction of Dutch Flowers, which explores the development of Dutch flower painting from its beginnings in the early 1600s. And Yinka Shonibare CBE RA: End of Empire, which comments on the balance of power at the outset of the First World War, making a visual connection between the conflicts of the West, globalisation and empire.

      

Make some fishy friends

Visit the National Marine Aquarium, the largest Aquarium in the UK and be fascinated by an underwater world. Get on board the journey across world's oceans, from the shores of Plymouth Sound to the coral reefs of the tropics of Australia, with over 4,000 animals to meet on the way!

     

Enjoy the outdoors

Plymouth Trails

The free Plymouth Trails app is a great way to explore the city with lots of easy-to-follow trails. The app is also packed with information and cool features, including selfie frames and the ability to overlay video and images onto the landscape in front of you for a real ‘then and now’ snapshot of the city.

     

Hang out with farm animals and pick some pumpkins

Further afield, head to Pennywell Farm in Buckfastleigh where there will be all your favourite activities plus the Pennywell Pumpkin Festival which is a huge host of fun from pumpkin picking and trail to a pumpkin village and more!

     

Picturesque walks this autumn 

We are blessed that there are so many beautiful walks in and around Plymouth, whether it be the stunning grounds of Mount Edgcumbe House, or the exquisite gardens of Saltram, there are plenty of gorgeous places to explore this half term.

Keep cosy in Plymouth

As the days get shorter and the temperature drops, warm up with the delicious food and drink on offer in Britain's Ocean City

Sample some local cuisine with the sea by your side and enjoy a seasonal speciality or two at one of Plymouth's many eateries.

If you're planning on staying overnight, the city is filled with a variety of places to stay from cosy bed and breakfasts to luxury hotels.

   

Experience Plymouth on the water

In Plymouth you're never short of options to enjoy the water. Enjoy a sight-seeing cruise of the local area with Plymouth Boat Trips, or use one of their ferries to take a trip to the surrounding areas.

Try out brisk on-water activities at Mount Batten Watersports and Activities Centre or try your hand at paddle boarding with South West SUP at the Royal William Yard.
