MLA College has been announced as one of the prestigious Diamond Sponsors for the second Maritime UK Awards.

The awards, due to be held in Plymouth later this year, are the UK’s national maritime awards organised by industry, for the benefit of industry.

MLA College is an award winning educational provider in Plymouth offering higher education courses in a range of maritime and marine based subjects. The courses are designed specifically to meet the needs of industry professionals and employers.

The college offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees which are taught by distance learning, both online and offline, allowing students to obtain a qualification whilst balancing their careers and other life commitments.

In addition to its educational programmes, MLA College also offers technology-enhanced training to both individuals and a number of large organisations.

John Chudley, Rector, from MLA College said: “We are delighted to be the Diamond Sponsor of the Maritime UK Awards 2020 and we look forward to welcoming you to our home city of Plymouth, Britain’s Ocean City.

“We find ourselves in the middle of a global pandemic with the maritime industry very much in uncharted waters. The Maritime UK Awards are a fantastic opportunity for the industry to celebrate success and look forward in these uncertain times.”

Ben Murray, Director at Maritime UK, said: “We’re thrilled to have MLA College on board as the Diamond Sponsor for our second Maritime UK Awards. The college is playing an important role within the industry, developing the skills that maritime employers need from their employees, now and in the future.

“Our goal for the awards is to share best practice and drive higher standards throughout the industry, which is extra important at this turbulent time, and the support of MLA College is helping to make that a reality.”

The 2020 Maritime UK Awards are open to companies from across the breadth of the maritime sector, including shipping, ports, services, engineering, and leisure marine industries.
